Things in Corners
ReviewIn each of these stories, set in Australia, a character is confronted with the unexplainable: mysterious disappearing shapes in the elevator, an old woman who climbs to the roof of an apartment building, holds out her arms and flies off into the night, a rear-view mirror reflecting something that isn't there, a fur collar comes to life and an old car is haunted by the ghost of a man who drowned his family in it, to name a few. Each of these apparent apparitions helps the main character face something very real. These tales make good read alouds or read alones for kids who want to read Stephen King but aren't quite up to it. Related Areas of Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site |
